Mike Dodge is a native of Texas.  He has 35 years of legal experience and a broad background in banking, general business, and financial litigation.  Mike manages our firm and our complex litigation section.  His practice otherwise consists of counseling employers considering non-subscription to workers’ compensation insurance under the Texas Workers’ Compensation Act. This includes analysis of burdens, benefits, mechanics and risk-transfers. Mike understands all the insurance coverages and alternative benefit programs in the Texas non-subscriber marketplace.

Mike is a frequent speaker and author on non-subscription and alternative workplace insurance coverages in Texas.  Under Mike's guidance, the firm has installed workplace injury benefit plans for more than 6,000 Texas employers, and defended more than 1,000 workplace injury claims in litigation.

Mike was employers’ class counsel in Weatherford Roofing Company, a workers’ compensation premium overcharge suit on behalf of approximately 9,000 Texas employers, which resulted in net settlements received by Texas employers exceeding $147,000,000.  He is presently class counsel for 210,000 healthcare providers in Solomon, et al. vs. Blue Cross Blue Shield Assn., et al., claiming underpayments for medical services.  As class counsel for the same healthcare providers, he recently achieved a settlement with CIGNA Corp., obtaining changes in CIGNA's business practices conservatively valued at $53,000,000, and an additional $11,550,000 in net cash returned to class members.
